Our Pastor

    Dr. Bobby Glenn Smith has pastored College Lakes Baptist Church since August 1975.  A native of Greenville, North Carolina, he was saved in a revival meeting held by Dr. Del Fehsenfeld, Sr.,  in Grace Church, Greenville, North Carolina.  Dr. Chester R. Phillips was his first pastor.  A few months after accepting Christ as his personal Savior, he was called by God into the ministry.

    Resigning his job at DuPont, he and Mrs. Smith moved to Nashville, Tennessee so that he could attend Bible college.  After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible-Theology and being ordained in his home church, he taught at Bob Jones Academy while earning the Master of Arts degree from Bob Jones University.  His first pastorate was Mt. Elon Church in Pamplico, South Carolina, where he pastored for four years.  Then the pulpit committee of College Lakes Church inquired of his interest in being our pastor.

  Pastor Smith continued his formal education, earning a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary.  He continuously studies the Scriptures in preparation for expositional sermons as he preaches through books of the Bible verse-by-verse.
